Web access to command view eva (EVA3000)
I know the appliance is working, as sssu access is still possible, and I can see in the logs that the appliance and the HSV100 controllers are syncing their time every hour.
So I assume this has to do with IIS?
Here are some more details:
* accessing "Devices -> command view eva" which calls /OSM/devices/hsv.asp now returns
"The page cannot be displayed"
* This seems to be due to the Compaq management agents (v6.30) not running.
Their failure to start is logged in the Audit log as a warning with event code 8C0A0384.
* In "Settings -> Manage Tools" all services are running but
"Compaq Management Agents 6.30 Error"
* Trying to start them here returns
"hp OpenView storage management appliance Error
Compaq Management Agent status: Could not start appliance application. (80004005)"
* In Windows' Application Log I find an Active Server Pages warning:
"Warning: IIS log failed to write entry, File //global.asa Line 49 Open call in OSMDB failed.. ."
The crux is that the system worked well in this configuration yesterday. Just this morning I found that CVEVA is not anymore accessible through the SMA. :/

Re: Web access to command view eva (EVA3000)
Can you get the the System Management Homepage?
If so, from there, do you see a link for Command View EVA?
Starting with PSP 7.2 (I think), HP started using a new web interface. This not one AND the old one did NOT use IIS, so IIS has nothing to do with it. But there have been problems with upgrades similar to what you are seeing.
Try the System management Home Page and tel us what you see...

Re: Web access to command view eva (EVA3000)
First problem I see is that you should not just arbitraily upgrade the SMA with the latest Support Paq's and software available. Command View is one thing, but touching the SMA with anything but an official SMA update is usually not the greatest thing to do.
Is this a SMA II or III?
Try this link... see if it works...
https://localhost:2381/command_view_eva/MainPage
replace "localhost" with your SMA server name.
Were you running CVEVA 4.1 before updating to 4.1.1.3? or did you do multiple updates? 3.3 -> 4.0 -> 4.1 -> 4.1.1.3?

Re: Web access to command view eva (EVA3000)
Given that SMA is deprecated, can/should I install a standalone CVEVA on it?
I tried to get the latest SMA service packs installed. SP2 wouldn't complete installation, though.

Re: Web access to command view eva (EVA3000)
When you use the sma, i think so, then you must uninstall the new HP Insight Agent und reinstall the Compaq Management Agents 6.3.
It looks like the SMA works only with this version of management agents.
