what is load balancing here on my window 2003 servers?
Please find out the directory that contains both "spmgr" and "autopath". Please see the attachment.
I am quite confused here. We are using XP 12000, I thought the RIGHT command to check load balance should be "autopath display all", not "spmgr" because spmgr is for EVA.
However, "autopath" command here on these window servers doesn't have "display" option at all. Though "spmgr display" works, but is this the valid command to use for XP12000 array?
I called HP, but the front line support doesn't have any clue.

Re: what is load balancing here on my window 2003 servers?
Hi,
for windows 2003 you should have a look at
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01393159/c01393159.pdf
This is the latest supported HP MPIO XP DSM driver manual. You can find there also the section of migrating from the Secure path to the HP MPIO XP DSM on both standalone and cluster configurations. Th MPIO XP DSM supersedes the Secure path and Autopath...
http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/sanworks/secure-path/index.html. From the above link it is seen that HP now supports the native failover capabilities that are included with operating systems for Windows (MPIO), Linux (Device Mapper), HP-UX (11i v3), Sun/Solaris (MPxIO), IBM/AIX (MPIO) and Netware (MPIO).
While HP continues to offer and support the Secure Path products, HP is encouraging the customers to transition to these native solutions.

the pain is one part of the reality
