Re: XCS 10.000.00?

Yes I was told by HP support that a new firmware version was on it's way. Had a problem where snapshots that are being deleted in quick succession would cause a controller to reboot.

Also there's rumour of VAAI support too.

Re: XCS 10.000.00?

There's an early access program for the P6000 EVAs going on now. General availability is expected shortly. Here's a link for info: http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/solutions/new-era.html

XCS 10000000 will be released for the x400s at the same time the P6000 is generally available.

Regarding the version number format, you'll most often see it listed as XCS 10000000 rather than 10.000.00 or 10.00.00.00. In any case, this is the successor to XCS 09534000.

Re: XCS 10.000.00?

CV 9.4 is out now. The new XCS (for P6000 and EVA x400) should be out soon.

Re: XCS 10.000.00?

CV 9.4 is not on software.hp.com or google so I doubt CV 9.4 is "out".

CV (and previous versions) can be found on HP SUM (Support Case Manager) and is available for everyone with a contract.

CV9.4 isn't showing on my SUM page. Does it need to be requested?

Re: XCS 10.000.00?

This is GREAT news! I recall having read snippets of news about an upcoming firmware which purportedly offers Thin Provisionng and Dynamic LUN migration for the EVA family. I certainly hope this will not be "beta" when it rolls out.

At least the EVAs can now keep up with NetApp arrays.

Anyone knows if this will be a FREE upgrade with thin provisioning thrown in as freebie?
