Re: XCS Controler Upgrade

Hi Issac,

XCS v5.1 is available from HP Services as part of your warranty or service agreement on the EVA. If you are not under warranty or a service agreement HP Services will provide the upgrade for a fee. XCS v5.1 is not available for download.

Refer the link -

Agreed with the previous response. Except I have confirmed reports that XCS 6 is available now - I know its not on the publicly site but may be quiz your HP rep or just wait a little bit.

XCS 6 has many benefits that no doubt you would want.

Right, I have already received two EVA with XCS V6.0 pre-installed.

Please do not attempt to upgrade the controller firmware without checking and adapting the surrounding world. For example, you do need Command View EVA version 6 to manage XCS V6. CV-EVA V5 does not recognize the system properly.

Contact your service provider to get the whole picture.

Re: XCS Controler Upgrade

Generally speaking, an end user customer does not have access to ANY VCS/XCS code anymore and can not perform their own upgrades.

The only way that I can think of that HP would allow the end user customer to perform an upgrade is if they signed a waiver releasing HP from any support issues AND it involves a non-production EVA, perhaps a lab/demo box/etc.

Otherwise, if the customer knows a technical resource that has access to such software... they may also get a hold of it, but as stated, it is suggested that you work through HP Services since if you bought an EVA, then you also bought the Services that should include such things.
