Guidance Plugin does not provide any result by simply copying the sample source

I have copied the Guidance Sample Plugin as provided here:

Now I can create a Fat Jar from the copy and build it against the version 1.2.0 API as well as import the JAR into an Morpheus Data Appliance version 8.0.0-1 - the Plugin comes in without any problem.

Then I go to the Guidance section of the UI and can see the Plugin as one additional choice at the appropriate dropdown menu. Unfortunately, I cannot see any results presented by the choice of the Plugin, whereas the standard choices bring up the expected results.

My question now: what is the expected result and do I need to tune the copy of the above mentioned source to run within my environment? Since the source code is not too complicated, I wonder why I do not see anything at all?

Does anyone have the same code running successfully in version 8.0.0 with API 1.2.0?
