Cluster Storage Capacity not showing the correct size

Hi All,

Recently I have build up 3 physical servers using the latest HVM installer . I configured their storage size differently as all 3 servers have different storage size. I have set up Morpheus on Server 1 with 741.6GB and build a cluster with the 3 servers. Server 2 and 3 are the different nodes that are in cluster too.

Server 1 (Installed with Morpheus)

The correct capacity to be shown all the time

This is what they show after synchronization is completed

From my understanding, The Total capacity should be shown as 700++ GB as Morpheus is installed in Server 1, why did it jumps around everytime the synchronization happens and once the the synchronization completes, it showed me Server 3's capacity?

Re: Cluster Storage Capacity not showing the correct size

Interesting one.  But it's unrelated to where the manager is installed.

Those "local" Directory pools is the space available to run VM's on on the local disks of the different nodes.  In most cases, that size is similar on all nodes.

In your case it is not similar.  I guess that during cluster sync, it reads the size of "a" node and displays it.  So that's why you probably see random numbers.

It's just a guess, but I can ask around.

Needless to say you should not use those "local" Directory pools in production (I actually disable them) since it will prevent your VM's to failover to other nodes in the cluster.
