Expected Migration Time When Using Bulk Migration

Hello everyone, I’m currently investigating how long a Bulk Migration transfer typically takes. In my test environment, migrating a single 100GB Windows virtual machine with Bulk Migration took 26 minutes.

I’d like to know whether this transfer time is considered normal or if it seems unusually long or short.

Any insights or real-world examples would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, That works out to roughly 500 Mbps of effective throughput. The actual time can vary quite a bit depending on network latency, datastore performance, VM disk activity, and the amount of data that changes during migration. I’d say your result looks normal unless you’re seeing much slower times with similar VMs.
