Failure when deploying VME Manager 8.0.8 on DL360 Gen 10
I have been attempting to install the latest version, 8.0.8 on a DL360 Gen 10
When deploying the manager, the progress bar jumps immediately to 60%, then slowly crawls to 99%, and eventually after about an hour or so it finally fails out with this message. I should note that I did previously have 8.0.6 deployed and running fine, but I deleted that instance to install the new manager.

I'm having the same issue using the same version.
Have they been able to resolve this issue?

Re: Failure when deploying VME Manager 8.0.8 on DL360 Gen 10
Hi vme1,
the issue in that current thread is about that the installed ubuntu was the one from the ubuntu website and if you use that in isolated environment, the result will be that. For the isolated environments it is better to use the HPE_VM_Essentials_8.0.8_HVM_Installer_2404_S5Q83-11030.iso for the ubuntu and later, you need to upload the VME install iso with the 7,3GB size into the ubuntu host and proceed with the install after mounting the ISO. the hpe-vm command is already installed on that HVM ubuntu version, so you just proceed with the install. If you are having issues, send a mail to the already mentioned mail address and we will have a look together.

Re: Failure when deploying VME Manager 8.0.8 on DL360 Gen 10
My experience with 8.0.8 is that the qcow2.gz file that is included in the ISO is corrupt. It's SHA256 checksum does not match what is on the SHA256.txt file that accompanies it.
If anyone else can confirm my findings, I would appreciate it.

Re: Failure when deploying VME Manager 8.0.8 on DL360 Gen 10
Hello.
Even if the SHA256 on the iso is correct,
when you upload it to the HVM-manager OS and extract it from there, the SHA256 of the qcow2.gz file may be incorrect.
You can first mount the iso file locally, then upload only the qcow2.gz file and check the SHA256 there, which may be correct.
It's worth trying if you can't proceed no matter what.
Thank you.

Re: Failure when deploying VME Manager 8.0.8 on DL360 Gen 10
Hello, I'm trying with
HVM_Install_24.04.ISO_8.0.8_S5Q83-11031 and HPE_VM_Essentials_SW_image_8.0.8_S5Q83-11019 in a DL360 Gen10+ in a Vmware virtualized environment, taking on mind the settings for nested vitualization. I followed this guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-l4X51Bhjk
The hpe-vm get stuck @ 99% with no error messages and the host vm plenty of resources available .
I tried every single trick I know with no success and I'm running out of time to let our customer test the solution in a demo environment.
A few minutes ago, after almost 2 hours, the system said
Thank you for your help

Re: Failure when deploying VME Manager 8.0.8 on DL360 Gen 10
David,
Use the "virsh edit <domain name> and check what was saved for the network. Every time I've installed VME it's picked the wrong network. You might need to run "virsh net-list" to see what is defined.

Re: Failure when deploying VME Manager 8.0.8 on DL360 Gen 10
Well after a video and procedure review I tried installing the hpe-vm program with su privileges so I proceed with the command
intcomex@hpevme1:~$ sudo hpe-vm
And now the vme manager started just fine
Now I will continue the process to have my first VME (virtualized) cluster up and running
Thank you all
