HPE VME v8.0.11 Windows 2022 new install issue BSOD
I deploy a new Windows 2022 Server, installation completed without error. When Try to first logon the Windows 2022, the VM BSOD.
But migrate Windows 2022 Server from VMware, the Windows 2022 server is normal.
Any idea.

Re: HPE VME v8.0.11 Windows 2022 new install issue BSOD
Hello.
A common problem is that if the Windows 2022 installation media is an old version, a BSOD occurs after installation.
In many cases, OSes migrated from VMware have been updated with Windows Update, and will not boot from installation media that does not have this update.
Thank you.

Re: HPE VME v8.0.11 Windows 2022 new install issue BSOD
Was it deployed with Secure Boot enabled?
The exact same issue occurred when deploying Windows Server 2025 with Secure Boot enabled in 8.0.11.
Therefore, I deployed it with Secure Boot disabled.

In my test, I deploy a new W2022 Server without patch update in vmware then migrate to VME and it is running as normal. But I deploy in VME, windows baisc install complete then BSOD when first time to logon the W2022 in VME.

Re: HPE VME v8.0.11 Windows 2022 new install issue BSOD
I try W2022 deploy with Secure Boot or non Secure Boot with the same result as first logon W2022 BSOD issue.
New deploy W2025 as normal in VME.

Double check for the windows install having VirtIO drivers. 2022 has an issue with kvm based hypervisors.

Re: HPE VME v8.0.11 Windows 2022 new install issue BSOD
I had no problems installing Windows 2022.
I only checked Virtio and UEFI for the ISO image.
I checked the same settings during distribution, mounted the Virtio driver, and uploaded the drivers.

can you provide more details like ISO in use or better is to send a mail to hpe-sw-trial-vmessentials@hpe.com and we will have a look in a remote session.
