Issue while creating a windows 11 server edition vm on HPE VMEssential platform
Hi Team,
I am facing an issue while creating a Windows 11 Server Edition virtual machine on the HPE VM Essentials platform.
I am using the Windows 11 Server ISO to boot the VM, but during the installation process, the VM fails to proceed because it cannot detect the required drivers. I have tried multiple methods and scenarios to include or upload the drivers with the image, but the installer still does not recognize them.
I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue. Please let me know if there is a recommended way to load the necessary drivers during the VM creation process on this platform.
Best regards,
Abhishek Gaikwad

Re: Issue while creating a windows 11 server edition vm on HPE VMEssential platform
Hello Abhishek
Hope you have enabled the options (shown below) while creating the instance.
The same can be enabled in the Image as well.
If already selected it and during the installation , we need to select the SCSI driver from the attached VirtIO Driver ISO.

Re: Issue while creating a windows 11 server edition vm on HPE VMEssential platform
For the image, I am using these settings from the Advanced Options as shown below:
VirtIO Drivers Loaded?
UEFI
Secure Boot
VM Tools Installed?
And while starting the VM, I am using the below setting:
Attach VirtIO Drivers
It gives me this error when I initialize the VM:
Failed to start server: error: Failed to start domain 'win-11' error: Cannot access storage file '/mnt/iscsi/virtio-win.iso': No such file or directory
I donтАЩt have the necessary drivers installed. Can you suggest how I can download the proper drivers and from where?

Re: Issue while creating a windows 11 server edition vm on HPE VMEssential platform
Hello Abhishek
The steps you followed is correct.
since you are installing the OS (from an ISO) you can recreate the Instance and make sure the above given options are enabled.Once the Instance booted from ISO, and where it couldn't see the disks attached, you may bwose the diver from VirtIO ISO. (which will be attached by VME).
