Reconfiguration

Reconfiguration can be performed in the following two locations, but how should they be used differently?

1. Select an instance in [Provisioning] - [Instance] and perform “Reconfiguration.”

2. Select a virtual machine in [Infrastructure] - [Compute] and perform “Reconfiguration.”

Re: Reconfiguration

I had the same question.

I don't know how to differentiate between starting and stopping virtual machines, not just for reconfiguration.

Whether or not a restart occurs for things other than vCPU/Memory when reconfiguring might be an important factor in deciding which to use, but...

Re: Reconfiguration

Thank you for your reply.

I haven't tested it thoroughly yet, but

I'm wondering if there are differences in operations between the instance side and the computing side in a single-instance/multiple-node configuration.

Since I don't know an effective approach for single-instance/multiple-node, I'm currently using single-instance/single-node. In this case, I'm operating primarily on the computing side, and if something can't be done there, I handle it on the instance side.

One concern arises when the guest OS is Windows. While I haven't been able to reproduce it consistently, after reconfiguring, the instance sometimes disappeared from the virsh list --all output.
In those cases, I resolved it by re-registering the instance using virsh commands based on the XML file left on the host.
