Request for Timeline — Datastore Extension Support in HPE VME Essentials FC 3PAR Prime...

We would like to ask when HPE VME Essentials will release — or add — native functionality to extend existing datastores directly from the VME interface.

Our infrastructure uses FC-based storage on HPE 3PAR 8000, and at the moment we always need to run manual CLI commands on the VME hosts to detect LUN size changes and extend the datastore, similar to how this process works on VMware vSphere.

Please confirm:

When this feature is planned for release, and

Whether online datastore extension (after FC LUN expansion) will be supported directly from the VME UI without needing CLI commands.

As of now, there is no official timeline for when HPE will add the capability to extend datastores through the VME interface. As you mentioned, the process currently requires manual CLI operations on the VME hosts to extend datastores after a FC LUN size change, similar to the workflow in VMware vSphere.
You may continue to monitor HPE’s official release notes and the VME Essentials roadmap for announcements regarding this feature.
