Re: defragmentation failure
Upon checking the task details, heres what I see :
2023-09-05 10:10:05 AEST Created task.
2023-09-05 10:10:05 AEST Started defrag process for VVs

The question is what/who triggerred the cancellation ?
Btw these error not one-time, it is recurring issues.

Re: defragmentation failure
Good day!
The error message you're encountering suggests that the defragmentation process for the volume "NB2-IMP-DUP-SR-T07" on your HPE Alletra 9060 storage system has failed due to an internally requested cancellation. To understand why this cancellation was triggered, you may need to investigate further.
Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this recurring issue:
>> You've already checked the task log, but make sure to look for any additional information or error messages in the logs related to the defragmentation process. Sometimes, there might be more detailed error messages that can provide insights into the cancellation reason.
>> In some cases, a task might be canceled if it depends on another task that failed or was canceled. Ensure that there are no dependencies or conflicts with other ongoing tasks that could be affecting the defragmentation process.
>> Check the resource utilization of your HPE Alletra 9060 during the defragmentation process. It's possible that resource constraints or high resource usage triggered the cancellation. Ensure that there are no other resource-intensive processes running concurrently.
>> Verify if there are any scheduled tasks or maintenance activities that coincide with the times when the defragmentation failures occurred. Scheduled tasks can sometimes interfere with ongoing processes.
>> Ensure that your HPE Alletra 9060 is running the latest firmware and software updates. Sometimes, manufacturers release updates to address known issues and improve stability.
>> Before attempting any major troubleshooting or changes, it's always a good practice to ensure that your data is backed up in case any actions inadvertently lead to data breakage
Remember that diagnosing and resolving storage system issues can be complex, and it's important to follow best practices and manufacturer recommendations when making changes or adjustments to your storage system.
