Re: No nimble access to firmware and software

Hi Cloudcover,

Please follow the below steps to upgrade your HPE Nimble storage OS.

1. Login to the HPE Nimble storage.
2. Go to "Administration" on the main menu, and select "Software" from the dropdown.
3. Here, you will see the current version, Previous version, and downloaded version.
4. Click "Download" to download the recommended version.
5. After downloading the new version, run the software precheck.
6. Then click "Update" to update the software.
7. It will take a few minutes to complete the update process and the system will reboot.

Note: Ensure you have a reliable backup of all your data before updating the OS.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Satish

Re: No nimble access to firmware and software

@Satish04

Thank you Satish

We will try if we are able to do the upgrade from your instructions.

In case we are not, is there a process we need to get in order to get access to the upgrades?

Thank you

Alfredo

Re: No nimble access to firmware and software

Hi Cloudcover,

Please follow the above procedure to upgrade the OS on your HPE Nimble system, and let us know the status.
Usually, we follow the above procedure to upgrade the OS on the HPE Nimble system.
If it doesn't work we will look for another upgrade process.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Satish

Re: No nimble access to firmware and software

Hi Satish

Unfortunately we are getting a "DECLINE SUPPORT" when trying to upgrade the OS and the firmware.

What does it mean?

Our nimble does not have active warranty

We used to have full access to firmware and equal product support. like with manufacture-based contract.

Re: No nimble access to firmware and software

Hi Cloudcover,

The error message says that the system contract support or warranty has expired.
If the system doesn't have active contract support or warranty, you might have restrictions to access certain resources and updates.

It is recommended to reach out to HPE Nimble support to check contract support or warranty-related issues.

Hope this helps.

Satish
