Used Alletra space vs vmware used space
I just ended the migration from my old infrastruture into Greenlake using Alletra storage. What I’m seing since the last migrated machine is that the used space in Alletra is increasing daily, but what I see in vmware is that the used space does not increase. As example, I ended the migration using 48TB in Alletra and 3 weeks later I’m using 55TB in Alletra with no explanation about this increase. Taking in consideration the deduplication and compression this increase means at least 14TB that I should see more or less in vmware. I need to see the detail of how Alletra is increasing the space but I dont know where to see it. I need to know which machines are using more space, which are increasing so much. Capacity planning does not have any kind of detail, where I can have the detail in order to understand why used space in Alletra increase everyday… Regards.

Re: Used Alletra space vs vmware used space
Hi, Joca,
Please monitor the capacity utilization in infoSight, you can view the capacity usage for the time range.
you will be able to see capacity, savings, and total usage as per the time range.
You can monitor the overall health of all your arrays in HPE InfoSight. You can also view details about many aspects of the arrays.
- If you go to Infosight > >VMware >> VMs you'll have detailed information for each one. Click to expand a particular alert to view the issue details.
- You can select VM Capacity Trend to see the evolution of usage per VM and some other graphs.
HPE InfoSight can be used to gain insight into your volume workloads and retrieve detailed statistics. Data is collected from all installed arrays and can be filtered to show the required metrics.
Go to Infrastructure → Volumes.
The Volume List page opens. To see the details about a particular volume, click the volume name.
Hope this helps.!!
Regards
Mahesh.
