Anyone Else forced to use HP openview (omw)???
I'm a jr sysadmin for the unix\linux team so I take care of monitoring systems responding to tier 2 tickets and request ect... However we are forced by management to use HP openview on windows to monitor our systems.
I can't stand this product, agents crash all the time, both the webtool and the thick client are very very slow and frequently critical events just don't get reported.
The team that supports the tool are very nontechnical and when ever I ask "why did the agent go down" they have no idea. Also that team clams that you can't exclude mount points from being monitored or change policies based on mount point.
Crazy, and my team keeps loosing the battle to start installing nagios.

Re: Anyone Else forced to use HP openview (omw)???
This is the forum for HPE OneView virtual appliance (runs in a VM), it manages server health, firmware, and status. HP Openview is a large broad product suite from the pre-split HP Company. The suite was redistributed to different organizations, many were renamed, and some of them sold off. You need to contact the company that sold you the software.
I'm fairly certain that HP Operations Manager for Windows is owned by Micro Focus.

HP OpenView and HPE OneView have no relationship.
