Can't Update HPE OneView
Trying to update from version 7.00.00. to 7.1 or 7.2 or 8 and I am getting the error:
Unable to update appliance.
The appliance is at pre-update version 7.00.00.
Before this version i used to this method from version 5 and it worked well in the past.
My current version is 7.00.00-0460837
Model:
HPE OneView VM - VMware vSphere
I used this update:
HPE_OneView_7.00.00_update_Z7550-97360.bin
I use these updates for install update (all these get the same error):
HPE_OneView_7.20.00_update_Z7550-97425.bin
HPE_OneView_7.10.00_update_Z7550-97390.bin
HPE_OneView_8.00.00_update_Z7550-97482.bin

Re: Can't Update HPE OneView
Check the activity log for details first, just in case there's something useful there. The appliance support dump will likely have more details about why it failed. Although I am not certain where to look, one obvious place would be in the dump under ...\appliance\updatelogs\update.log
That should even be included in the smaller 'preview' support dump.

Re: Can't Update HPE OneView
I saw your question when you posted it.. ..but I only have to offer exactly the same advice as the prior person. Otherwise, please open a support case and they can read the logs if there is no clue on the user interface or activity pages. Ensure you're using the proper file(s) and if we have a pervasive update bug then HPE certainly wants to get the support case ASAP.
Unlike the original poster, you have 6.60.xx and you need to ensure that you are not managing any legacy hardware (this check would be mentioned in the activity details). However, if you're not even getting as far as the legacy hardware checking, this might be the same symptom.

Re: Can't Update HPE OneView
With HPE Tech, we have see why there were issue.
For me, it's because of enclosure in 6.x and not in 7.x, we delete it and re-apply.
