failed firmware update and retry time in automatic mode
On all my servers the fw package SPSGen10_04.01.04.804.fwpkg failed to install and OV showed following:
OneView was unable to install or had to perform an intermediate hop for the following components: SPSGen10_04.01.04.804.fwpkg . OneView will attempt a retry to update the failed components, and will install the firmware in the selected baseline for the components which required an intermediate hop. (PMFW_015)

I expected the reinstall to start imediatly. But nothing happend for an hour. I then rebooted the server, still the same state after 1,5.h. Then I deleted the package in ILO that still was in state pending.
Now OV noticed that the server is incostent and wants me to reboot an reapply.
How should this work? How long should it take before a reinstall is started? What can I so clean up the state?

Re: failed firmware update and retry time in automatic mode
Hello,
Please do update the SPS firmware from iLO.
Also, please do unassign and reassign the profile.
If the issue persists, please update the SPP offline.
Thanks.

Re: failed firmware update and retry time in automatic mode
Isn't the purpose of Ov that it updates he firmware? If I need to do it manually, I don't need OV and I don't need to buy licenses.... In my POC I tested firmware update on 9 servers, all of them were updated to latest SPP and had firmwares installed from the SPP before. I think none of the servers was updated without issues. At least one seemed to have lost connection between OV and ILO, last OV log entry was updating ILO. After that other FW were updated but OV did not see that or trigger a reboot or anything else. This state lasted for several hours before I finished the update with sut commands in Linux. I could neither cancel it in OV, nor do anthiny else there. It was completely stuck.

Re: failed firmware update and retry time in automatic mode
Hello,
We might have to look at the OneView logs and check it remotely.
Please do log a case to check further.
