Re: Hpe One View Advance License with ILO

In general, 1 license is assigned to 1 server.  How that license is added to the appliance can be accomplished in a number of different ways.

All HPE OneView SKU's, except the Flex and AKA options, are single server license keys.  That means a single license key is added to the HPE OneView appliance license pool, and 1 is allocated to each server that is added to the appliance that requires a license. This SKU option can also be added to a server hardware quote with the Factory Integration (FIO) option, which the factory will generate the license key and embed within the iLO for easy entitlement and deployment.

The FLEX SKU's are provided to customers who wish to purchase a single license key for a specific number of servers.  So, if you have 10 servers, you can purchase the FLEX SKU, and specify Quantity of 10.  A singular license key is generated that provides up to 10 server capacity.

The AKA SKU's are a special agreement with HPE to purchase licenses over time.  We can provide a singular license key with the negoatiate quantity, or we can split up to multiple license keys with diffferent capacities each, but the total cannot exceed the negotiated quantity in the agreement.

A number of the scenarios I mention above are documented in the HPE OneView Online Help, specifically in the Licenseing help topic.
