HPE OneView Remote Support

Hello,

I have enabled Remote Support in HPE OneView.

For servers that are under warrenty with HPE, I have checked the 'Enable remote support' checkbox in 'Edit Remote Support Settings'.

For servers that are not under HPE warrenty, I have left this checkbox unchecked.

In 'Activity', I am receiving the following message for six servers where I have the 'Enable remote support' checkbox unchecked.

'Check connectivity of all devices that are eligible for remote support'.

Check remote support connectivity of device: <server name>

Issue - Device is not enabled for remote support. (RSDV_400S)

Resolution - Enable device using remote support settings for the resource.

I do have 'Automatic configuration of eligible devices' set to enabled, and suspect I need to disable this, but have been unable to find any definitive explanation of what this setting does.

My question is, why is OneView highlighting a Remote Support issue with servers where I have specifically not enabled remote support?

Any help appreciated.

Mike

Re: HPE OneView Remote Support

Hi @Mike64

To prevent OneView from reporting these servers as having a Remote Support issue, you can disable the Automatic configuration of eligible devices setting. Here’s the procedure:

1. Navigate to the Remote Support Settings in HPE OneView.
2. Locate the setting Automatic configuration of eligible devices.
3. Disable the setting.

This setting is designed for environments where administrators want OneView to manage Remote Support configurations without manual intervention. If you're manually managing which devices should be enabled for Remote Support, it’s better to disable this setting.

I believe, disabling the setting will not affect devices where Remote Support is already enabled—it simply prevents OneView from automatically enabling the feature for additional eligible devices in the future.

Hi Greeshma,

I did think it might be this setting but wasn't sure.

Thanks for the confirmation.
