HPE OneView SNMP Monintoring
Hello,
Recently our OneView appliance had crashed but stayed up, so i'd like to set up SNMP monitoring on the appliance itself (not the iLO's).
I went to Settings > SNMP
I tried the SNVMPv1 read community string from our monitoring server and it's not working, so I tried SNMP v3 and thats not working either
I am trying to read the uptime intially and get this response
Paessler SNMP Tester - 20.2.4 Computername: BLANK Interface: BLANK
22/03/2024 14:08:20 (11 ms) : Device: BLANK
22/03/2024 14:08:20 (15 ms) : SNMP v1
22/03/2024 14:08:20 (19 ms) : Uptime
22/03/2024 14:08:22 (2039 ms) : SNMP Datatype: ASN_UNIVERSAL
22/03/2024 14:08:22 (2043 ms) : -------
22/03/2024 14:08:22 (2046 ms) : DISMAN-EVENT-MIB::sysUpTimeInstance = No response (check: firewalls, routing, snmp settings of device, IPs, SNMP version, community, passwords etc) (SNMP error # -2003) ( 0 seconds )
22/03/2024 14:08:24 (4055 ms) : SNMP Datatype: ASN_UNIVERSAL
22/03/2024 14:08:24 (4058 ms) : HOST-RESOURCES-MIB::hrSystemUptime.0 = No response (check: firewalls, routing, snmp settings of device, IPs, SNMP version, community, passwords etc) (SNMP error # -2003) ( 0 seconds )
22/03/2024 14:08:24 (4061 ms) : Done
The monitoring server is in the same vlan so it's not a firewall issue (local Windows firewall is off too), it just seems like OneView appliance is not accepting it, I assume the default port of 161 is being used?
Thanks

Hi @DanS2 ,
You can refer this document (page no. 268) to configure SNMP v3.

Re: HPE OneView SNMP Monintoring
@shiva_jr Hello,
This is what i've followed and like I said I tried SNMPv1 too and thats not working, is it a known bug in the latest release 8.70.00-0486025?
I've also used SNMPwalk and thats not connecting either
