Invalid Package/Version com.hpe.ov4vc.vlcmhsm/SPP-2024.09.00.00.803. It is not configured

While trying to perform an upgrade of ESXi in a VCF environment, I'm getting the followin error:

Invalid Package/Version com.hpe.ov4vc.vlcmhsm/SPP-2024.09.00.00.803. It is not configured on the vCenter.

My cluster is configured with the following image, and this has been imported to VCF:

vLCM configured image.jpg

This image has been imported to VCF

I can probably get it to work if I remove the firmware and Drivers Addon from the image but what is the point of using ovc then ...

In VCF each workload domain has its own vCenter and therefore each VCenter needs to registered in OV4vC to provide the HSM service. In addition, each SPP which is appropriate for the workload domain must be registered with the appropriate workload vCenter and the sync updates task must complete successfully to link the firmware updates for the workload domain.

The error is in reference to the SPP bundle not the Addon. The Addon should be automatically downloaded into the LCM repository of the workload domain vCenter if connected to the internet. If not connected then upload the Addon to the LCM repository manually

Check this document to ensure the correct combination of VMware base image , HPE Addon , and SPP combination
