Migrating servers from oneview 6.6 to 10.1

I can see in oneview 10.1 the migrate hardware option is still there, but i thought the recomendation was that you could only migrate to version 9 using that button, If thats the case, why is the button still there?

as i still need to look at migrating hosts from ov 6.6 to 10.1 and i was going to remove oneview from 1 host, and then add it in the new one

unless you have a better method?

Re: Migrating servers from oneview 6.6 to 10.1

The feature was initially used to migrate servers off of a 6.60 LTS appliance to a newer one. Its now used to migrate servers across the same appliance versions for a number of use cases. Like consolidating appliances. Moving from one appliance security or configuration to anpther.

Re: Migrating servers from oneview 6.6 to 10.1

ok that makes sense.

so if i want server going from 6.6 to 10.1 then i have to remove from one and add to the other manually?

Thanks

Re: Migrating servers from oneview 6.6 to 10.1

actually so thinking about it, if i want to use the migrate option, i'd need toupgrdae the 6.6 version all the way to 10.1? then i can use it

or manually migrate them in the way i suggested before?
