OneView cannot let me add my custom bundle (OA, ILO3, ILO4 and VC not present)

Hi, Its been only two week, I have been introduced HP technologies (ILO, Oneview, SUM, SPP etc) and I am trying to create a custom baseline (I need updates only for 360 G9), following instructions at http://h20566.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c05219875, i created custom baseline. Now I want to add this iso to oneview and I complaing that

This firmware bundle does not meet minimum requirements and will not be made available for use.

Resolution Remove the firmware bundle and add a bundle that contains the required firmware and minimum versions :
OA Firmware not present.
iLO3 Firmware not present.
iLO4 Firmware not present.
VC Firmware not present..

When I was creating custom base line, I did not see any option to include the above and hence I am lost

How do I create a cutom base line for Firm ware update for DL 360 Gen 9 (only for 2012 R2) and be able to use it in oneview?

You can use the SPP custom download to define your firmware bundle baseline in OneView.

I got the exact same issue when trying to upload custom SPP's to our HP Oneview 3.0 Appliance.

Firmware 3.00.05-0271823

This firmware bundle does not meet minimum requirements and will not be made available for use.

I have no space in OneView storage for second full image.

My main purpose to create custom image is to have 2 images (old full & and custom new ) in OA simultaneously and have possibility to sequental update.

My issue is why when you build custom SPP's it duplicates packages and add multiple versions of the same update.

Great i finnally figured it out!  I have made 3 Custom SPP that are now in OneView

I had to add a DL G7, G8, G9 and a BL

Hi ,

just now I saw this post.  I have a solution for this. I can see your custom SPP size is too big. If you want to make it small and use it with Oneview then create the Custom SPP with the required operating systems.  But please include Linux and Vmware as operating systems, then include the specific servers  but do not forget to  put a check on the vc and OA at the bottom, this will include your OA and VC firmware in the build. To verify click on build and then enter onboard administrator and virtual connect in the search bar of the components list. Once verified the components then complete the  build of custom SPP.  

Note if you are selecting SPP 2018.03 it will not include the firmware for your ILO 4 and ILO ILO3 . And the custom SPP might not have the ilo firmware. So to add it seperately you have to follow the below given steps.

1. Download HP SUM from https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/home/productHome?sp4ts.oid=1008862656

2. Unzip the HP SUM file to a directory.

3. Download the SPP custome ISO file from  to a local directory.

4. Mount the SPP ISO file a file system you can access, following your software instructions.

5. Start HP SUM by double-clicking hpsum.bat in the \hpsum directory.

6. From the HP SUM main menu, select Baseline Library→+Add Baselines.

7. For Location Details, browse to the hp\swpackages directory of the mounted SPP.

8. But before adding the base line download individually  firmwares for ilo3, ilo4 and ilo5  in the swpackages folder.( files should be rpm , scexe and exe)

9. Click Add. Let the add operation complete before proceeding.

10. Add any other components (updates) you have downloaded from HPE to the baseline library that you want to include in the custom SPP.

11. Select the SPP and the components from the baseline library.

12. Select Actions→Create Custom.

13. Select any of the filters you want to use but the following filters are required:

    • Overview: Select Bootable ISO

    • OS Type: Select RHEL 5 and RHEL 6

14. Click Create ISO to create the new firmware bundle.

15. Add a firmware bundle to the appliance.

    This will save your space in Oneview. You do not have to add multiple SPP in Oneview.
