I want to update my ESX-Servers in OneView. I have uploaded the "HPE Synergy Service Pack" into the firmware bundles, changed the firmware baseline (in the server profile template) to the new firmware and updated the server profile. After that I powered off the ESX-Server in OneView with the install update-box checked. After powering on the ESX-Server I got the following notification message:
-> A new firmware baseline has been applied on the server:
Notes: The firmware and drivers update state is: Staged and the Smart Update Tool is running in mode: automatic stage. Take action to complete the update.
What action do I have to take to complete the update and how can I do that?

SolutionAt this point, your components looked to be staged on the server, and now ready to be installed/activated. When you applied the profile, since SUT is running in autoStage mode, the FW update has paused after the staging of the bits. It requires the administrator to "advance" the update by telling SUT to "deploy" (i.e. install/activate) the bits.
Issue one of the "deploy" commands on the OS. E.g.
sut -deploy
or
sut -deployreboot
There are two flavors with deploy or deployreboot, where the the former won't reboot on its own (you would do manually as needed when the install is complete) and the latter will reboot automatically as needed. Note one last caveat with the deployreboot option, it will not reboot automatically unless the host is in maintenance mode. There is a help topic in the online help that explains the SUT modes, and how some of this works if that helps.

Re: OneView - Take action to complete the update
If you don't want the staging vs installation/activation to be separate steps orchestrated through SUT on the OS, you can change the SUT mode on the OS to something different. E.g. from SUT man page:
