When using 25Gb connectivity, a maximum of 5 Synergy frames can be grouped into a single logical enclosure.

 

With 20 frames total → 20 / 5 = 4 logical enclosures minimum are needed.

 

When using 50Gb connectivity, HPE supports up to 5 frames per logical enclosure due to bandwidth and link architecture limits.

 

 

The downlink speed requirement (e.g., 25Gb or 50Gb) affects the number of interconnects and the architecture, and thus limits the maximum number of frames per logical enclosure.

 

For example, 50Gb connectivity limits you to 5 frames max per logical enclosure, whereas 25Gb allows larger logical groupings.
