The management processor is ready after a successful reset
Dear all,
Good day to you.
I have been using an HPE OneView (OV) instance to monitor my HPE server for quite some time. However, in the last couple of days, I noticed that several(100+) of my server's Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) components have been reset.
This occurred at the same moment. I confirm that we do not have any automation scripts or scheduled actions responsible for these resets.
After checking the iLO event log, I couldn't find any valuable information; all entries seemed to have a similar message indicating that the iLO clock had been synchronized with an NTP server.
Furthermore, when reviewing the activities in the OV instance, I noticed that each reset event had the following log entry:
"The management processor is ready after a successful reset.
trapDescription: The Management processor is ready The management processor has successfully reset and is now available again. User action: None."
I would like to inquire if the OV instance is capable of triggering iLO resets without requiring my confirmation in advance.
Thanks
SEVEN

Re: The management processor is ready after a successful reset
Hello,
OneView will not reset the iLo automatically.
Has this issue occurred first time?
If yes, We would suggest you to continue to monitor your environment.
If this has happened earlier, Can you check if the certificates of problematic hosts are still active.
Cheers...

Re: The management processor is ready after a successful reset
Certainly! Based on your description, it appears that the Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) components of your HPE servers were reset simultaneously. The event log indicated that the iLO clock was synchronized with an NTP server, and each reset event message stated, "The management processor is ready after a successful reset."
Regarding your inquiry about HPE OneView (OV) triggering iLO resets, it's essential to note that OV typically does not trigger resets without user confirmation. Any automated actions within OV, such as server resets, usually require specific configurations and user approval.
Given your situation, where multiple iLO components were reset without your confirmation, it's recommended to investigate further. You might want to review OV's automation settings, scheduled tasks, or any integration with external systems that could inadvertently trigger these actions. If the issue persists, reaching out to HPE support for detailed assistance would be advisable to ensure the stability of your server environment.
