Time Setup issues

Hi,

We hava a new HpOneView (Firmware 7.10.00-0464465) appliance guest running on a ESXI.

How ever I am struggling to setup the time. I tried both options but no luck. It sjust don't do anything but Saying "Verifiying Parameters". Also I cannot see anything in the Default Language/locale, it's just emply. All the firewall rules are also in place for NTP servers inclusing ports.  This looks like a bug in the system.

Many Thanks

Re: Time Setup issues

It seems like the appliance is slow to respond based on the little description you have supplied.  Can you verify that you have allocated the number of vCPU and vRAM to the VM?  Can you move it to another host?  Have you been able to add server hardware to your appliance?  Was that successful?

I'd also suggest opening a support case, so as these can be looked at and internal log files can be examined.

Re: Time Setup issues

Thanks. I cannot imagine any issues with RAM & CPUs as it has 8 cores & 24GB Ram.  Yeah tried on different hosts.
Adding servers to the appliance has no issues.  I am using free version of HPOneView, So am I still able to open a case with HP?

Unfortunately, not by default.  Getting technical support will require purchasing the K6F98AAE 9x5 1Yr support SKU per appliance.

Re: Time Setup issues

As for the original issue, what NTP service are you trying to use?  OneView only supports NTP, not PTP (Precision Time Protocol).

When you reply from a full web browser and not the mobile site, you will see a camera icon above the text body.Screenshot 2022-10-04 081402.jpg

Use it to upload and then attach images to your posts.

Re: Time Setup issues

Given that the language/locale never finished loading.. ..there is either a resource issue (as Chris mentioned) or a browser+network problem.  Sorry I have no specific suggestions.

Re: Time Setup issues

Unfortuantely, without seeing an appliance Support Dump by engaging with HPE PointNext Support, I cannot tell you what is happening here.

Re: Time Setup issues

Thanks. Its not related to browser or network. Checked on console. Also I can see NTP traffic reaching NTP server when try to save. So its looks like HpOneView.

Thanks

Re: Time Setup issues

ok, it's good that you checked.  HPE OneView only behaves this way drawing a screen as a result of super slow performance loading screens (or browser caching/blocking issues).  Unless, possibly, your language or locale has some unexpected characters in it (just guessing).
