Re: Unable to get type data message after upgrading from OneView 8.80 to 8.90
Our current understanding is that this is a new occurance of an impoper check of the existing server hardware types that fails. Please inspect your installation for unused or unsupported server hardware type(s) and delete them. You may need to use a RESTapi client, see below.
Although the root cause is different, we believe the resolution in this advisory will also address your situation. If not, please ensure you have a case with a support dump:

Re: Unable to get type data message after upgrading from OneView 8.80 to 8.90
Yes, I know. You can wait for the advisory to be updated or you can perform the remediation now. There is a new root cause of the same problem that was introduced in 8.90; the remediation is the same (other than obviously the update to 8.70).

Re: Unable to get type data message after upgrading from OneView 8.80 to 8.90
In the revised advisory there is a hyperlink called Server Hardware Types that points to https://techlibrary.hpe.com/docs/enterprise/servers/oneview8.6/cic-api/en/index.html#rest/server-hardware-types which is now returning a 404 - File or directory not found.
Does anyone have a revised link for this reference information?

Re: Unable to get type data message after upgrading from OneView 8.80 to 8.90
Hello @quesnl
I have the same problem after updating from 8.80.00-0487836 to 8.90.00-0490022. All Gen8 and Gen9 servers (total 10 servers) have this message.
I do not understand the advisory
Were you able to solve the problem? What exactly were the steps involved?

Re: Unable to get type data message after upgrading from OneView 8.80 to 8.90
Hi MarioE,
There is two way to fix the issue.
1. Delete the hardware that is is obsolte form OneView with a rest command.
2.If your still using the obsolete hardware you can contact HPE and refer them to the document a00136096 and they will fix the issue with you by opening OneView in maintnenace mode and modyfing a few fileds depending on waht hardware your still using..
I had to use the second method to get my issue fix.
Thanks

Re: Unable to get type data message after upgrading from OneView 8.80 to 8.90
Hello
I do not understand this. Gen8 and Gen9 servers are listed in the HPE OneView 8.9 Support Matrix and are therefore supported.
According to HPE OneView 8.9 Support Matrix:
Managed ProLiant DL rack mount servers:
Any of the servers that can be managed can also be monitored by HPE OneView.
Is this a bug in version 8.90?
I guess I need to open a case. Thanks @quesnl for the information.

Re: Unable to get type data message after upgrading from OneView 8.80 to 8.90
Yes DL380P Gen8 and DL380 Gen9 servers are supported by HPE OneView 8.9
Issue will be resolved by removing the obsolete Server Hardware from oneivew database as mentioned on the below article
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-a00136128en_us
Kindly raise a support ticket with HPE, will help you address the issue

Re: Unable to get type data message after upgrading from OneView 8.80 to 8.90
Thank you for the information.
Is this a bug in version 8.90 or why does this error exist?
Will the problem be fixed in the next version?
It is an effort for the customer to fix such errors.
(Open case, remote session to fix the problem,...)

Re: Unable to get type data message after upgrading from OneView 8.80 to 8.90
As mentioned in the article, this issue can be safely ignored as it does not have any functional impact on HPE OneView or the servers.
The article clearly states that problem has been addressed in HPE OneView 8.70. However, the issue may reoccur with OneView 8.90.
It's important to note that this issue won't occur in all environments running OneView 8.90. We need to review the logs to determine what triggered the problem.
Once the issue is cleared, it wont re-occur
