Unable to update server firmware due to internal error. (SHFW_064)
Hello,
Oneview version 7.2
iLO v2.72
I'm trying to update firmware on a bunch of DL360 GEN10+ using
Gen10/Gen10 Plus Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) 2022.09.01
However Im gettin constant errors (see subject).
I've tried resetting the ILO countless times as suggested by Oneview to no avail. I also tried using just the SPP without any additional firmwares. Still nothing.
No idea what to do with this.
Appreciate the help!

Re: Unable to update server firmware due to internal error. (SHFW_064)
Hi,
I do not have a support contract for Oneview (using the free version).
Which is why I'm trying this forum.
I have dozens of servers with the exact same issue.
This is really frustrating.

Re: Unable to update server firmware due to internal error. (SHFW_064)
Unfortunately, this forum isn't for official HPE technical support of products. While the error code you provided did help understand where the issue is, we can't troublehsoot this further here on this forum. The appliance support dump needs to be analyzed to understand what is happening internally to the appliance, or even with iLO. The appliance support dump contains sensitive information, and should never be shared on a public forum.
We have a 1yr 9x5 support SKU (K6F98AAE) for HPE OneView Standard customers. This SKU is per appliance, not per server device.

Make sure you don't have usb disabled. The ISO is mounted to the iLO as a usb device.

Re: Unable to update server firmware due to internal error. (SHFW_064)
Make sure you don't have usb disabled. The ISO is mounted to the iLO as a usb device.
While that is true for Gen8 and Gen9 systems, it isn't for this case. Gen10 and newer push out firmware to the iLO Firmware Repository (except for HD and legacy 1Gb NICs), which does not utilize the USB virtual media mechanism. However, when a disk drive or legacy 1Gb NIC is/are detected that needs to be updated, then OV will mount the baseline ISO to install that update.
In this case, the SPP content isn't able to write to the iLO Firmware Repository (as an InstallSet) for some reason.
