Upgrade of Oneview from 2.00.02 to latest

Hi.

Can anyone please help me.

I have been taked with updating our previously unloved OneView instance and found out that it is running version 2.00.02-0219211.   I need to get to version 5 as quickly as possible.

I have been reading this forum and found a few conflicting posts, one said that I could go directly from 2.00.02 to 4.00.07 but other posts state that I need to do multiple hops inbetweem.

I have spoken with HPe but as our OneView server is a VM, it doesnt have its own serial number and they are getting difficult on supporting it because we cannot give them a serial number.

Is anyone able to please advise as tothe exact versions I need to go to and provide links on where to get the software from?

Hi

You can use the serial number of the server hosting the OneView instance to raise a support call, assuming it's HPE has a current carepack or warrenty.

You have a number of things to consider, depending on what you use OneView for. Each version has a support matrix for the hardware it looks after.

The plan would be  2.00.07 => 2.00.09 => 3.00.07 => 3.10.07 => 4.10.04 => 5.00.02 => 5.20.01

Things to keep in mind are the changes in the VM memory and CPU requirments, these are in the guide.

I'm not sure which version you can get. There is a OneView Archive under https://myenterpriselicense.hpe.com/cwp-ui/free-software but for the moment I can't login. Hopefully the version you need are there.  Search for OneView Archive

You'll need to log a call,  the ealiest version I can find is 3.10.07.

HPE Pointnext could also help with an upgrade.
