Federation creation for peer motion not working

HI All, I need to migration my 3PAR 20K to Primera  A670. Each array has 4 nodes and I have dedicated 1 port each from each node as shown below:

3PAR- 0:4:3, 1:4:3, 2:4:4, 3:4:4

Primera- 0:4:3, 1:4:3, 2:4:4, 3:4:4

Port type on 3par are the Host ports and on Primera it is Peer port. I have done one to one zoning between these ports, and I can discover the 3par ports on primera as well.

Now, when I am trying to create a federation in SSMC for Peer motion, both these storages are showing unavailable. The reason mentioned are:

3PAR- "System  does not have the required minimum of two available ports that can be configured as peer ports. Disable or remove zoning for an unused pair of host ports on partner nodes (for example, on nodes 0/1 or 2/3) so that SSMC can configure them as peer ports for this federation. Alternatively, manually configure two ports on partner nodes as peer ports so that the ports can be used for this federation." 

But as per the documentation, we have to configure source storage ports as 'host' ports. Is it correct?

Primera- "System has more than 2 configured peer ports." But as per the documentation we can configure upto 8 ports for Peer Motion.

Can anyone suggest what am I doing wrong here?

Hello @zabbix,

The port configuration and one to one zoning that you have done are fine.

Can you please share the below command outputs to check more about the issue?

showportdev ns x:x:x
(x:x:x = port numbers. Please run the command for all 4 ports separately on each side. Mention which output is from Primera and which is from 3PAR)

showport -peer

Please note that we have two 3PAR storages and two Primera storage, and we have zoned each host port from 3PAR to both Primera storages, in one to one zone as recommended. Port numbers are same for all 4 storages.
