Hello,
We need to rename several virtual volumes in our HPE Primera system. However, these virtual volumes are members of a Remote Copy group. The documentation states, "It is not possible to rename a virtual volume that is already associated with a Remote Copy group."
How should we proceed?
The reason we want to rename the volumes is to implement Virtual Copies/Snapshots, but this will exceed the maximum length for volume names.
Thank you in advance for your help!

SolutionHi,
did you try it?
As far as I know, it should be possible to rename the Volume Name, but not the RC Group Name.
For renaming the RC Group, I have written guidance here: https://d8tadude.com/2018/07/11/rename-3par-remote-copy-group/
However, you can use it also for Volume Name, because it broke temporary the RC Group.

Re: Rename a virtual volume
@Cali, Thank you for the quick response!
It seems that the method worked this time.
We had previously tried to rename a virtual volume that was part of a Remote Copy group. The source volume was renamed successfully, but we encountered issues with renaming the target volume. It's possible that we hadn't stopped the group before attempting the rename.
Anyway, this time we made sure to stop the group first and then successfully renamed both the source and target volumes without any issues.
What does the documentation mean by "It is not possible to rename a virtual volume that is already associated with a Remote Copy group," as stated in the CLI Reference for the setvv command?
Thanks again for help the guidance!
