HI,
I have a DL380G6 + P411 connected to two MSA60 boxes.
One of the raid 50 arrays is in failed status. Initially two disks in the same parity group appeared as Failed
and the logical drive become unavailable as expected since both drives are in the same parity group.
After power-down and migrating the disks to another MSA60 only one disk appears as Failed. In this situation
with only one faulty disk the array should be theoretically recoverable however the diagnostics show the following:
Consolidated Error Report:
Controller: Smart Array P411 in slot 3
Device: Logical Drive 2
Message: Logical drive state: This logical drive has failed and cannot be used. All data on this logical drive has been lost.
Controller: Smart Array P411 in slot 3
Device: Physical Drive 1E:2:7
Message: The physical drive has failed.
We tried to reenable the logical drive through the hpacucli with and without the forced option but it says "This operation is not supported with the current configuration"
Is there something we can do to reenable the logical drive ?
Diagnostics attached.
Thanks

Re: P411 raid50 logical drive in failed status
You should not have moved it to another box.
It seem like you have changed the box number.
8 Physical Drive1E:1:1 0 Informational
9 Physical Drive1E:1:2 1 Informational
10 Physical Drive1E:1:3 0 Informational
11 Physical Drive1E:1:4 1 Informational
12 Physical Drive1E:1:5 0 Informational
13 Physical Drive1E:1:6 1 Informational
15 Physical Drive1E:1:8 1 Informational
16 Physical Drive1E:1:9 0 Informational
17 Physical Drive1E:1:10 1 Informational
18 Physical Drive1E:1:11 0 Informational
19 Physical Drive1E:1:12 1 Informational
26 Physical Drive1E:2:7 0 Informational
You can try to put them back in the box they came from, in excact the same posistion. If you still not able to re-enable the failed drive.
You must restore from backup.

SolutionIn the old box we always had two failed disks in-spite of our efforts.
When we moved to another box one of the failed disks immediately
got OK.
In the end the only thing we did wrong was to swap two disks when
we moved them to the other box. Once we noticed that and fixed it
we were able to reenable the array. The array is now ok but we
suffered file system corruption.
Thanks anyway,

Re: P411 raid50 logical drive in failed status
Greate :)
Hint. If you're suffering for multible drive failure, you can try to reseat the drives, to get them back online.
