Smart array 5302 in a RX2600

I have installed a Smart Array 5302 to provide RAID 1/0 for my OS disks in a RX2600 and on boot up I get the following error/warning message.

HP Smart Array 5302-128 Controller (version 3.54) 1 Logical Drive
1775-Drive Array - ProLiant Storage Enclosure Not Responding
SCSI Port 1: Check storage enclosure power switch and cables.
Turn system power OFF while checking ProLiant power and cable
connections, then turn system power back ON to retry.

Press "F1" to continue...

Everything seems to be working OK, but I was wondering what this message means and what I can do to stop it from occuring.

Any ideas?

Regards

Mark

Re: Smart array 5302 in a RX2600

Hi Mark...just a part of some advisory:

Error message 1775 - Slot X Drive Array - ProLiant Storage Enclosure not responding
SCSI Port X Check Port X: Check storage enclosure power switch and cables
Turn system power off while checking ProLiant power and cable connection, then turn system power back on to retry.
This problem occurs when the SCSI cable presses onto the pins of the slot 0 connector on the 6-Bay SCSI LVD Backplane, causing a short.

Maybe you have damaged SCSI cable or something. Try checking one by one all disks and scsi cables. Do not forget the terminators....

Thanks for the reply, but I now have two servers doing exactly the same thing. I have checked the cables as things are a little tight in the server, but all seems to be OK.

Any other ideas?

HM....since everything you have looks to be also officialy supported by HP...of course you have also updated all array and disk fw to the latest :-), try contacting your local HP service. I have no other idea.

In the advisories, this kind of message always points to some sort of HW or at least system sw problem....
