Using the storage system on a smart-2/p array controller
Hello everyone,
we want to test a ProLiant Storage System UE in combination with a Smart-2/P Array Controller. On the internal bus we use four hdd?s configured as a RAID5-array, on the external we use the ProLiant Storage System UE with eleven 1 inch hdd?s.
When starting the server with Compaq SmartStart there are always mistakes: Sometimes there aren?t shown the whole harddisks of the storage system or there is listed a SCSI-cable problem.
In the storage system we use Ultra-Wide-SCSI3 harddisks with 4.3 GB. Only one time the system was running when there were six harddisks in the storage system, the next time no more.
Could it be a SCSI-cable problem, where can we see the cable-properties?
Thanks for your help.
