Change host name to IP instead FQDN
Hello,
i need to change the host name (FQDN) in the vsphere cluster to IP addresse.
Can i apply this KB:
https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1014030
1 disconect
2 delete vpxuser
3 reconnect with IP instaed FQDN
Is there un impact for omnistack or federation?

Re: Change host name to IP instead FQDN
@Major88 Good day!
If you are trying to change the Host ESXI name, then the article you shared on the forum should work, and technically speaking there should be no impact for the omnistack or on federation.
However, I would advise you to move all the VM's to the second node and then try the KB.
you can also check the following link for additional information: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1010821
@Major88 I hope this helps!

Re: Change host name to IP instead FQDN
Hi Josh94K,
thanks fot your reply, i'll try this next week. The ojbectif is not to change the real host name but juste change "registration" name in the vCenter perspective.
As the DNS servers are hosted within Simplivity i'd like to register hosts in vCenter by theirs IP addresses
