Hello

We have problem to deploy a new cluster 4.1.1 U1, tried a lot of solutions but it's stopp/error on step 34 or 35

Step 34 of 43: ERR_DPLY_CREATING DIGITALVAULT_RECORDS: Could not secure credentials and certificates because digital vault records can not be created

ERROR : Step 35 of 43: Virtual Controller could not register unique authentication extension with
HMS.

Hi @Putte_F 

As per the 4.1.1U1 Deployment Guide  on pg. 72, both of these steps can ERROR when the Virtual Controller (OVC) is unable to power on during the deployment process. Can you ensure that the OVC is powering on during these steps and if not, something like vSphere HA/ Admission Control may be preventing the OVC from powering on due to resource limitations and vSphereHA may need to be disabled.

OVC is booting and cluster is created in vcenter, i have already disable both DRS and HA

The problem is digital vault

The OVC is booting fine, this is more related to digital vault i think.

Hi @Putte_F ,

You may be facing a bug as it relates to EVC.

Deployments may fail when set to the following CPU generations:

Intel "Merom" Generation (Intel Xeon Core 2)
Intel "Penryn" Generation (Intel Xeon 45nm Core2)
Intel "Nehalem" Generation (Intel Xeon Core i7)
Intel "Westmere" Generation (Intel Xeon 32nm Core i7)
Intel "Sandy Bridge" Generation 

You can either disable EVC on the cluster level or set the CPU mode to one of the following as it has worked in the past:

Intel "Ivy Bridge" Generation
Intel "Haswell" Generation
Intel "Broadwell" Generation
Intel "Skylake" Generation
Intel "Cascade Lake" Generation

I disable EVC and tryed to deploy one node now and it works fine

Big thanks to your solution, we have an open case with HPE and they have not solve this in weeks.
