Hi
I need to perform a factory reset of a new SimpliVity node running 4.1.3. This is a new DL380 Gen10 hardware build and with previous nodes it was necessary to manually remove 3 logical drives from the smart array controller so a redeploy would be successful.
Is this still necessary as I've noticed there are now 5 logical drives under the RAID controller configuration - do all 5 need to be removed and if not which one need to be removed please?
many thanks

SolutionHi jlangmead
Yes, all 5 need to be removed.
To perform a factory reset of an HPE SimpliVity node running version 4.1.3 on a new DL380 Gen10 hardware build, the process may vary slightly depending on the specific configuration and requirements. However, in general, it is recommended to remove all existing logical drives to ensure a clean redeployment.
Note: It's important to note that performing a factory reset will erase all data on the server's disks. Ensure that you have backed up any important data before proceeding with the reset process. Additionally, if you have specific requirements or instructions provided by HPE Tech Support for the SimpliVity node deployment, it's recommended to contact HPE Tech support for guidance specific to your hardware and software configuration.
Hope this helps.!!
Regards
Mahesh
