HPE Simplivity CN3400-1 old hardware
Dear all,
We want to decommission old hardware HPE Simplivity CN3400-1
So we want to reset factory these 2 nodes and redeploy an infrastructure from scratch for future use.
I did not find anymore infos about this hardware from support.hpe.com by looking at the Serial Tags or by searching my model.
Serial Tags of the 2 Simplity HPE nodes : info erased and info erased.
Maybe someone can help me.
Any documentation can be helpfull.
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards.

Hello Edouard,
you can find the documentation for SimpliVity OmniCube CN-3400 here:

Compatible ESXi versions can be found in latest Interoperability Guide:
HPE SimpliVity OmniStack 4.0.1 Interoperability Guide
The given hardware is a modified Dell PowerEdge R730xd. You can verify the SerialTAGs on https://www.dell.com/support/home/de-de?c=&l=&s=
Please be aware that last supported release is 3.7.10
Let me know if you`ve got any more questions!
All the best, Tim

Re: HPE Simplivity CN3400-1 old hardware
Hello @Edouard1
This link might help with the factory reset process.
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=sf000061061en_us
Have in mind the video is for an HPE Proliant server but the process is very similar for Legacy servers, what changes is the way you access your console and mount the image.
Hope it helps,
gustenar

Re: HPE Simplivity CN3400-1 old hardware
That's the correct link. You can go up to version 3.7.10 for legacy nodes.
The link for this version would be:

Re: HPE Simplivity CN3400-1 old hardware
Hello Edouard,
the provided link will bring you to 3.7.8 release. Please check this one:
* RECOMMENDED * HPE OmniStack for Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere (3.7.10)
HPE SimpliVity related documentation can be found here:
Hewlett Packard Enterprise Information Library
You`ll need to download OmniStack release 3.7.0 and extract the given Dell ESXi versions from there while uploading them onto the 3.7.10 Deployment Installer after it`s been booted.
I`d strongly suggest to open a ticket to have an engineer assisting you with this steps.
Please let me know if you`ve got any questions and I`m happy to assist!
