HPE SimpliVity Upgrade Planner
Hi,
Our customer is currently running Omnistack 4.1.3.5 and have asked us to upgrade to the latest 5.3.1.8
Your HPE SimpliVity Upgrade Planner doesnt allow any upgrade path from 4.1 to 5.3.1.8, why?
What is the accepted upgrade path from 4.1.3.5 > will there be multiple hops?
Versions
8 Nodes
• Omnistack 4.1.3.5
• vCentre 7.0 U3n – 21958406
• ESXi 7.0 U3m – 21686933
• SVTSP-2023_0803.01

Re: HPE SimpliVity Upgrade Planner
Hi SM17
I request you to have a look at HPE SimpliVity Interoperability Guide 5.3.1 using the below link
Link: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=a00117319en_us
This document provides you with detailed information about interoperability details for VMware vSphere and other major external products. It covers HPE SimpliVity releases beginning at HPE SimpliVity v4.1.0U1.
You may contact HPE SimpliVity Technical Support for further information regarding the OS upgrade path.
Hope this helps.!!
Regards
Mahesh.

Re: HPE SimpliVity Upgrade Planner
We already have a copy of the HPE SimpliVity Interopability Guide and apart from the "Important Considerations for SVTSP" recomending two firmware hops; to SVTSP-2023_1130.02.iso then to SVTSPGen10-2025_0131.03.iso, there is nothing mentioned in that document stating if there are going to be any issues going from Omnistack 4.1.3.5 to 5.3.1 ?
We do have another customer that we keep up to date however this new customer is far behind and we need some professional guidance from HPE rather than giving us the obvious guidance that doesnt fulfil our questions.
Could you either answer our question or fix the Upgrade Planner tool?
