Hello.
I can see it is not possible to chose Upgrade HPE SimpliVity OmniStack from 5.0.0 to 5.1.0U1. just from 4.2.0?
Also ESXi from ESXi 7.0 U3q, not from ESXi 8.0U2a?
Regards
/Johan Stridh

Re: Latest HPE SimpliVity Upgrade Planner
Hello @Stridh ,
Our Interoperability guide indicates It is possible to upgrade from version 5.0.0 to 5.1.0U1, and based on ESXi's Upgrade Path matrix you can also upgrade from 8.0 U2 to a higher one (8.0 U3). Where are you seeing it is not possible? Can we have some details of your current versions?

Re: Query: Latest HPE SimpliVity Upgrade Planner
Hello @gustenar .
Yes I have read in Interoperability guide It is possible to upgrade from version 5.0.0 to 5.1.0U1.
But my question or input was, it is not possible to chose upgrade from version 5.0.0 in the HPE simplivity upgrade plander, https://storage-showcase.ext.hpe.com/hpe-simplivity-upgrade-planner
You can only chose to go fron 4.2.0. When are HPE going to fix this in the Upgrade Planer?
Regards

Hi Johan,
The upgrade planner has been modified and now you can upgrade from 5.0.0. Sorry, we missed this.

Re: Query: Latest HPE SimpliVity Upgrade Planner
Can I please have a sanity check, I'm using the upgrade planner for the first time and it looks different than my usual path.
I'm on 4.2.0, ESX 7.0.3o, VCSA 7.0.3s, and firmware from (I believe) SVTSP-2023_1130.02. (My system ROM shows 10/19/2023 Gen 10).
Does this look Legit, in this order? The first thing I usually do is Firmware... This show it as last.
1. If you have an Arbiter in your environment, copy the executable .msi file for Arbiter Version 5.1.0.8 from the distribution media to the Arbiter host, typically the vCenter Server computer, and upgrade Arbiter
from: 4.2.0.12
to: 5.1.0.8
2. Upgrade vCenter [For vCenter 7.0 and above, upgrade the vCenter Server Appliance instances to a supported 7.x version]
from: vCenter Server Appliance 7.0 U3r - 24026615
to: vCenter Server Appliance 8.0U3a - 24091160
3. Upgrade HPE SimpliVity OmniStack, ESXi, and HPE Host Firmware/iLO using the single click upgrade with HPE SimpliVity Upgrade Manager Version 5.1.0U1:
3-1. Upgrade HPE SimpliVity OmniStack from 4.2.0 to 5.1.0U1
3-2. Upgrade ESXi Version 5.1.0U1
from (*) ESXi 7.0 U3o - 22348816
to (*) ESXi 8.0 U3 - 24022510 with the following package:
Requires VCSA at 8.0 U2c or above
Q8A57-11197_hpe-esxi8.0u3-24022510-803.0.0.11.7.0.23-offline-bundle.zip
3-3. Upgrade HPE Host Firmware/iLO
from: SVTSP-2023_1130.02 (1)
to: SVTSPGen10-2024_0930.03 (1)

Re: Query: Latest HPE SimpliVity Upgrade Planner
Hi.
I think it is best to use HPE SimpliVity OmniStack Interoperability Guide 5.1.0U1.pdf for the moment. I feel the Upgrade Planer is not updatet 100%.. It was not for me going from 5.0.0. But it seams to be from 4.2.0.
Yes Firmware has alvays been updated last as I know..

Re: Query: Latest HPE SimpliVity Upgrade Planner
You are correct. The latest packages, ESXi 7.0 U3s and 8.0 U3d, have not been added to the Upgrade Planner Tool. Sorry for this. The team is working on it and should have it updated soon.
