Hi, I read that SimpliVity use default network 172.16.0.1/24 for the Storage and Federation network so the network for storage and federation they can be internal IPs and not real?
The query is because we have previously worked with different segments of real ips and the current client does not have a pool of IP big enough.
Thanks and regards

SolutionHi Xavier
Yes, HPE SimpliVity uses a default network of 172.16.0.1/24 for the storage and federation network. These networks can be internal IP addresses and do not have to be real publicly routable IP addresses.
This is because the storage and federation network is used for communication between the SimpliVity nodes and does not need to be accessible from outside the cluster. Therefore, using a private, non-publicly routable IP address range is a common practice.
If your client does not have a pool of IP addresses big enough to use a real IP address range, you can consider using a private IP address range, such as 10.x.x.x or 192.168.x.x. You can also consider using VLANs to segment the network and conserve IP address usage.
However, keep in mind that it is important to ensure that the IP address range you choose for the storage and federation network does not conflict with any other IP address ranges used in your network. It is also recommended to follow best practices for network segmentation and security to ensure the protection of your HPE SimpliVity cluster and its data.
Hope this helps.!!
Regards
Mahesh
