Older Simplivity node
I have an older legacy Simplivity two node cluster that for some reason I cannot sudo to root. We had a TIA card fail, I was able to replace it, however there is a nostart file on the OVC, that I cannot delete. Super old build, and out of support, but wondering if there is a way to get the svtsupport account password or another option to troubleshoot why I can't sudo to run the correct commands as root. I can login with svtcli, however I get an error that it isn't allowed to run the command as root.
Any help would be appreciated, I think it is 3.6.1.
Thanks,
Don

Re: Older Simplivity node
Hi Don,
Good day.
As you are aware, these nodes and the SimpliVity versions are out of support (Both software and hardware) related. However, please try the steps below and maybe for the password, you can try to reach out for support.
So here it goes as below:
I would like to know if you are able to login to the OVC using the Administrator@vsphere.local account.
If so, then you can proceed with as below.
#su svtsupport
#password to be entered by HPE support team as this cannot be shared
#sudo su
#source /var/tmp/build/bin/appsetup
#cd /var/svtfs/svt-hal/0
#ls
#rm -rf nostart
If you are unable to login using the administrator@vsphere.local account, then you can still login with SVTCLI account however you will need to start up the session by running this command:
#svt-session-start
enter the username and password and press enter and then you can follow the steps from the above as mentioned.
I would suggest maybe you can go about refreshing the servers OR have the SimpliVity version upgraded, but again, that can only be done till 3.7.10U1 in case its a Gen 9 or Dell, Lenovo & Cisco.
If its an HPE Gen 10 server, you still do have hope until 4.x version of SimpliVity.

Re: Older Simplivity node
Thanks for that, I can login as the administrator@vsphere.local, however cannot sudo su with that account. I have called HPE support several times, to inquire about a T&M support, but was told because the serial number isn't 10 digits they don't know how to open a case.
Kind of dead in the water atm, any help creating that initial case or getting some support to get the svtsupport password would be appreciated.
