Hi
I've a need to change the Management IPs on both the ESXi hosts and OVCs on a two-node SimpliVity cluster.
In the past I've been provided with the commands and done this without any issues, but this was several versions of OVC ago (v3.79) and within a low-usage dev environment
Looking at other similar requests it seems that it is recommended to engage with HPE Support for the re-ip of a production two node SimpliVity cluster? Is that still the recommended approach?
With version 4.2.0 can it be done in a non-disruptive manner when using a 2 node cluster.
many thanks in advance

Re: OVC and Host Re-IP procedure
Hi @jlangmead
It is good to know that you have already performed the procedure in the past. The procedure of changing OVC IP address is still same and it has been document on below community link .
However, I would request you to open a support case so someone from the support be with you while changing the OVC IP address..
Hope it helps.
Regards,
Jaipal

SolutionHi @jlangmead
Changing management IPs on both the ESXi hosts and OVCs on a two-node SimpliVity cluster is a critical procedure that can disrupt services if not done correctly. In older versions (v3.79), it might have been possible with simpler commands, but it can differ depending on the context in current versions like 4.2.0. Particularly in a production environment, careful consideration is required.
Engaging HPE Support for changing the Management IPs in a production SimpliVity cluster is the safest approach. As they can ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption & potential issues.
But if you are comfortable with advanced procedures & have a non-critical environment, you can explore resources discussing re-IP commands for older versions of SimpliVity. Before attempting any re-IP procedure, ensure you have a proper backup of your SimpliVity cluster. (Proceed with extreme caution if attempting this approach)
