Good morning!
I have a case open with VMWare to resolve a license issue on a specific Simplivity host. We're unable to get rid of the evaluation license assigned to a host and add a paid license.
They are recommending that I remove the host from inventory and re-add it, and during that process assign a new license.
Will removing a Simplivity server from inventory and re-adding it cause an issue with any federation related services, or anything else Simplivity related? Is this safe to do?

SolutionI'm on version 4.0.1U1 and have done this quite a few times to resolve issues with no problems.
You can either vmotion all vm's off the host or remove the host with the VM's still running.
Once you add it back into vcenter you will need to login to the corresponding OVC for that host and run dsv-update-vcenter. It will need to reboot the OVC but there is no downtime as long as all VM's are HA compliant.
