Hey all
Did anyone tested if it is possible to install a G11 server with 5.0 instead of 5.1?
Reason: i have a single node site wit 5.0 and get 2 new G11.
I don't want to shut down the VMs so the idea is to setup G11 with 5.0 and then upgrade the 2-node cluster to 5.1 and then replace the old G10 with the 2nd G11.
any ideas? (otherwise i will give it a try)
thx

Re: Setup Gen11 with 5..0 and not 5.1
hi
It would be better to install a new cluster with 5.1 0U1 or even 5.20
then migrate VM's from existing cluster.
you can even use the G10 node as an extra host
or DR site!! after you re-install it.
Regards
Give a KUDO if this helps

Re: Setup Gen11 with 5..0 and not 5.1
Thx @giladzzz for you answer.
well, then it would be a lot less effort to just shut down vms, and quickly run the upgrade to 5.1...
but that was not the question, right
regards

SolutionOkei, I've checked it by myself
Well, the 5.0 deployment mgmr. will not let you install a G11 in it. it directly states you that the HW / IP is not ready/set correctly.
Even if you exchange the config file with the hardware portfolio in the deployment manager path.
tl;dr
I did the upgrade to 5.1 first and then the G11 with the 5.1 depl. mgmr went fine through.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
However, may it helps some one if not...then at least I helped myself
