simplivity 5.2.0 DL 325 GEN 10 PLUS V2 : failed step 8 of 43

Hi do you have a idea of what is happening ? Brand new servers not able to be deployed...

simplivity failed step 8 of 43 unable to copy the virtual controller to the datastore - Conversion Failed

I'm looking for the binaries in order to factory reset because I've recreate the RAID 1 as suggested in the forum but the deployment image (Deploy package is : Q8A57-11205_HPE_SimpliVity_Deploy_Package_5.2.0_VMware_vSphere.zip)  do not allow to factory reset the node when booting on it :

It just make the node booting the HPE SimpliVity Installer through the iLO, don't have the choice to select the menu to perform the Facory Reset.

Thanks for your help.

Hi @J-Philippe

Ideally, the error caused at step 8 of HPE SimpliVity deployment is because of not having a clean RAID set before starting the deployment.
If they are Proliants, you need to make sure to delete both the front and back RAID sets and only recreate the rear RAID set again before starting the deployment (RAID 1).

Also, make sure the tiny image .img file is always mounted during the process of deployment (if you are doing it via network attaching the image) or the USB drive is always connected to the host.

Sanika.

Hi @Sanika @giladzzz , impossible for me to conceive that a brand new server already has a defective RAID 1. (same error both nodes ...)

I will rebuild the node with the full img (the tiny do not allow to factory reset).

After deleted the RAID 1 in order to recreate it I was suprised that the host boot on VMWARE, I thought that ESXi was on the RAID 1 but it can't if its finally booting on it.

Where is ESXi stored on the node ?

Best Regards
