Hi,
We have a SImplvitiy solution 4.1.2 (18 Jul 2022) with ESXi VMware ESXi, 7.0.3f, 20036589.. Of late we have found that the Simplivity backup GUI screen hangs, i.e. it indicates it is "processing". This happens for different browsers and client platforms. From the Simplivity CLI we do have access to the backup environment and it appears to be running normally.
If anybody has any suggestions/experience on what might be causing this it would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
Andrew Rycroft

Re: Simplivity Backups work through CLI, but the GUI just hangs
Hi AWR,
It looks like you are having an issue with the HPE SimpliVity backup GUI screen hanging, even though the backup environment appears to be running normally from the CLI.
This could be happening because of the following reasons:
1. One possibility is that the backup service itself is malfunctioning which may cause the backup GUI screen to hang. This service is responsible for managing backups and restoring data.
2. Additionally, there can be an issue with the network connection between the client device and the HPE SimpliVity environment.
3. Or a bug in the HPE SimpliVity software can also be one of the reasons for this issue.
Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help you to resolve the issue:
1. Activate the SimpliVity backup service again.
2. Ensure that the client device and the HPE SimpliVity environment are connected.
3. Clear your browser's cache and cookies. Sometimes the cached data can prevent web apps from operating correctly.
4. Find any errors or warnings in the HPE SimpliVity logs so that you might be able to figure out why the GUI is hanging.
5. Verify that the most recent patches and updates are installed on VMware ESXi and HPE SimpliVity software. Updated software can sometimes fix the problems like these.
If you've tried everything listed above and the issue still exists, I would request you to contact HPE SimpliVity support for further assistance.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Sanika.

Re: Simplivity Backups work through CLI, but the GUI just hangs
It's February. This is still broken. Is HPE working on this? Or is the official stance that it's Chrome's problem? Chrome has 64% of the browser market. Firefox has 3%.
