Godd day,
Does anyone have an explanation what issue triggers this waring on a SimpliVity node: SimpliVity Media Lifetime Manager Activated.
The issue is only available on one node in a 4 node Cluster. There is only a simple explanation in the event Guide which isn't very helpfull. Anyhow everything is fine running on the cluster, there is also a return trigger, so I don't want to just ignore it.
thanks and regards

SolutionHi BJST
The warning message "SimpliVity Media Lifetime Manager Activated" typically indicates an issue related to the media lifetime management feature of the HPE SimpliVity platform. This feature is responsible for monitoring the health and lifespan of the underlying storage media (usually SSDs) used in the SimpliVity nodes.
When this warning is triggered on a specific node in a cluster, it suggests that there may be an anomaly or potential issue with the storage media on that particular node. It could be due to factors such as high write amplification, excessive wear on the SSDs, or potential failure or degradation of the storage media.
While the warning message itself doesn't provide specific details about the issue, it's important to investigate further to ensure the stability and reliability of the node.
Please consult HPE SimpliVity Tech support and share the log files with them to make sure there are no issues.
Hope this helps.!!
Regards
Mahesh.

Re: SimpliVity Media Lifetime Manager Activated
Hej Mahesh,
thanks for the explanation. As I found no issues in the ESX Logs or in the ILO it only could be high load anywhere on the node, as there are migrations ongoing at the moment.
But yes I will open a call to have HPe-Support check the log captures.

Re: SimpliVity Media Lifetime Manager Activated
Hi BJST
You're welcome! It's good to hear that you didn't find any obvious issues in the ESX logs or ILO. In situations where there are ongoing migrations and high load on the node, it's possible that the warning could be related to resource utilization or temporary spikes in activity.
Opening a support call with HPE is definitely the right course of action.
Hope this helps.!!
Regards
Mahesh.
